I'm all for science. But for 100 billion dollars, is this really necessary? Not a tacky question. I'm curious.

No, it really isn't. The funny thing is, it will create jobs in two places: Texas and Florida. And of course, one being W's home and the other being W's brother's state has NOTHING to do with this decision.

i think it's awesome.


but right now, don't we have better things (New Orleans, the freakin WAR) to spend our money on? how about we balance the budget or even start getting out of debt before we start throwing money into play-things.

That's the other big issue. Too many other things need doing. Like getting Bourbon Street open and rollin.'
